Great outdoor seating and service. Some of the best eggplant parm I've had. Big menu and looking forward to going back.
My previous review from over thirteen years ago needs an update. This is my favorite restaurant in Westfield. It's a great Italian trattoria. I've eaten here more times than all the other restaurants in Westfield combined. The management here is always welcoming, and the service on point. The food is delicious, and remarkably consistent. In all the years, I've still never had a bad meal here. Portions are generous, if you order two courses, you probably won't be finishing all of it. Prices have risen a bit, but are still very reasonable, plus it's a BYOB. Note they only accept AMEX or cash, no VISA or MC.
This is the second time we've been here and the service is always great. The aesthetic is beautiful, dimly lit dining room which makes this the perfect intimate date night spot. We had Pizza alla Diavola, which was a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was the perfect amount of greasy with a thinner crust. We also ate a pasta special, which was homemade spicy pappardelle sautéed in a light marinara sauce with shrimp and little neck clams. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. I would definitely come back!
Not only was last night the first time I've been to this restaurant, but it was the first time I've been to Westfield. The town and the restaurant were excellent! On a June Saturday night, there's outdoor dining all over and plenty of people. Friends of ours had previously dined at the Brick Oven and recommended it, so we met them there for dinner. It's a BYOB, which we always like. The service was very good. We had 2 waiters taking care of our table. They were attentive, but didn't rush us at all. We shared appetizers of garlic shrimp and portobello mushrooms, then split a couple of salads. The shrimp was very good, especially with bread to dip in the sauce. Our entrees ranged from balsamic chicken to my bracciole. The bracciole was very tender and delicious. We topped off the meal by splitting a tiramisu. If you're in Westfield looking for some good Italian food, I can recommend the Brick Oven!
This is our favorite place to go every Friday. The service is wonderful. Everyone in there is professional and polite. The food is excellent no matter what is on the menu. Their prices are on par it's bring your own. My favorite time is when the weather is nice to sit outside, the ambience is wonderful, they occasionally have music and he is excellent.
It's so funny, this place has really inconsistent reviews. But if you look at the NEGATIVE REVIEWS, you'll realize it's from people that don't wuit understand how to judge Italian food. If you're in the area and you're thinking Italian food, you're probably thinking one thing... but that thought would be WRONG. That PLACE was good about 10-15 years ago when there was an Italian grandmother in their back cooking. Now it's an overplayed reaction to east coast italian. BRICK OVEN IS THE REAL DEAL. This place absolutely holds the title for best Italian in central nj. Having lived in the area for 30+ years, I have the absolute right to make this claim. Their food is always SO ON POINT it will astound you. I don't want to oversell you, but this is the real option. Don't be suckered into out of date reviews. This is the actual real deal
Great place to come for quality homemade Italian food if you are in the area. Had a few dishes from here over the years and they have not strayed at all. The prices are fair and the staff is friendly. This place is almost always packed especially on the weekends. They have outdoor seating now with the pandemic which is nice when the weather is good. Overall, I'd try this place at least once. Although it is one of my go-to's!
Came here before the opening of a new brewery a few blocks away, very good experience! Food: when a place serves a very good free basket of bread, you know it's a good start. I ended up going with the ravioli along with my friend and my wife got the salad. We were also given chicken barley soup that came complimentary which was good, albeit thin. The ravioli was amazing though and definitely led to a solid meal. Service: our service was very good and prompt, though there were not many people there which may be why. Aesthetic: typical Italian restaurant style, really like the two different levels of seating. Very clean!
